Understanding human behavior, particularly misbehavior, can often feel like an enigma. In this enlightening webinar, Demystifying Why People Do the Things They Do, we explore the groundbreaking work of Rudolf Dreikurs, a prominent psychiatrist and educator. Through Dreikurs' lens, we gain insight into the Mistaken Goals of Misbehavior — a concept that shifts our perspective from punitive responses to understanding the underlying motivations that drive behavior.
Participants will learn how misbehavior often stems from an individual’s unmet need for belonging and significance. Dreikurs outlines a set of mistaken goals that guide individuals toward behaviors that may be perceived as disruptive or problematic. The webinar delves into:
- The core psychological needs that drive human actions
- The four primary mistaken goals of misbehavior: Attention, Power, Revenge, and Inadequacy
- Practical strategies for identifying and addressing the mistaken goals in everyday interactions
- How to foster positive, cooperative behavior in both educational and family settings
This course is ideal for educators, counselors, HR professionals and anyone who works closely with individuals struggling with behavioral challenges. By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of why people behave the way they do and how to address misbehavior constructively, while fostering a more positive and productive environment.
Join us to demystify the motives behind behaviors, and learn how to respond with empathy, insight, and effective strategies.
