MARYJO ROBERTS
MaryJo Roberts has practiced in the area of labor and employment law since 2007. Her practice area encompasses a broad range of labor and employment law disputes including Title VII and state law discrimination, harassment and retaliation litigation, Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) litigation, EEOC complaints and investigations, Department of Labor investigations and audits, employment contracts, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, confidentiality agreements, and wage and garnishment litigation. She litigates a variety of state tort law claims including claims of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, battery and assault. Ms. Roberts also provides employment advice and training on matters such as employee hiring and discharge, employee discipline and employment investigations, drafting employment handbooks and policies, Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) issues, and Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) issues. Ms. Roberts has also handled complex class action and collective action cases and has represented clients in all phases of the litigation process from inception through a resolution in motion pleading, mediation, and trial. She practices before federal and state trial and appellate courts. Prior to practicing labor and employment law, Ms. Roberts served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James J. Brady, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Louisiana.
