No one likes change, but it is an inevitable part of life. Explore the seven most common reasons that we are resistant to change. Some of these are completely subconscious and others we are well aware of. Learn the hidden reasons that we want to stay unchanged and ways we can shift to a growth mindset and be more open and willing for those inevitable changes in life. This interactive presentation offers usable solutions to get your psyche ready to accept those changes in your life. Perhaps you'll even start to instigate changes that were previously shy-ed away from. Fun, educational and always thought provoking!

Reasons we can be resistant:

  • Our brain: We are wired for worry and our brain is constantly on the lookout for things that are different or unusual around us. Learn techniques that will help us rewire.
  • FEAR: I’m not talking about those flight or fight worthy fears. I’m talking about the more nebulous ones like fitting in, public speaking, what will people think and even death.
  • Stubbornness: Let’s face it, we’ve all had times where we resist change just because we don’t want to be told what to do or we want to fit in with our peers. Let’s address the rebel inside of us and get comfortable to make change.
  • Secondary gain: this is a complicated one, as we often don’t even realize we are doing it. Let’s examine those hidden ways we benefit from staying stuck.
  • Outside forces: with a seeming rise of narcissism in our society it is easy to fall prey to the whim of others. On the other hand outside influences can be incredibly positive and uplifting in our effort to change more easily.
  • Habit: one of the phrases I hear most often when I am doing team and corporate coaching is, “but this is how we’ve always done it.” Just because you’ve been doing it for a while doesn’t mean it’s right or the most efficient way. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. Let’s learn how to create new habits.
  • Laziness: We’ve all been there. Sometimes we are just lazy and don’t want to go to the effort of learning the new protocol or taking the extra step for the new software. This webinar teach you some life hacks to get over the laissez-faire attitude.
